I think nothing says Friday night better than an oversized garlic bread with 3 kinds of cheeses. This is one of those snacks to make when you need a comforting hug in the form of cheese. I actually ended up wanting to have more garlic in the mix, but my husband thought it was enough. So that part can be easily updated for more or less garlic. This three cheese garlic bread is also very versatile.
So I used 3 kinds of cheeses. Parmigiano, cheddar, and a block of simple cream cheese. As far as spices go, salt, pepper, and paprika were all I used. But you could add any other kind of spices, like oregano, basil, thyme, red chili flakes, onion powder, maybe some curry powder for some burst of flavor? Maybe some chili paste or sriracha. You could also add some mayo into the mix, you know the varieties of cheese mixes are unlimited. But now, let’s just stick to what we have here. A really nice three cheese garlic bread to make for serving for a small gathering or just an evening in front of the TV. In my defense, the 2 whole baguettes were a bit too much. We were eating that garlic bread for the next 3 days.
This week has been so full of carbs that I think next week will be all about greens. Salad for all meals. I have been experimenting with bread recipes, pasta, and more bread this weak and I am in need of some fiber. So, three cheese garlic bread, see you after no less than a few months. Life is all about balance. Even if it means balancing 2 kinds of cheese in each hand. For some reason, spring comes with the need for some fresh vegetables and leafy greens. I would like to dive into a large bowl of all kinds of salad leaves. But what is offered at the supermarkets and is in season, no leafy greens and fresh veggies for me. I am eagerly waiting for fresh summer cucumbers. But for now, let’s stick to carbs and cheese and bread, because they, after all, are the fundamentals of all comfort food.
