Rose apple galette

This simple and rustic rose apple galette is a delicious treat, perfect for the coming of fall

Ingredients
  

  • 120 g cold butter
  • 140 g flour
  • 50 g iced water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4-5 rose apples sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Make the dough in a food processor by adding all the ingredients and slowly pouring in the cold water until a dough forms
  • Roll the dough out between two sheets of parchment paper
  • Let the dough cool in the fridge for at least 20 minutes
  • Toss the sliced apples with sugar and vanilla
  • Preheat your oven to 200C
  • Arrange the apples on the dough, leaving at least 4 cm at the edges
  • Fold the edges over
  • Brush the galette with a beaten egg and sprinkle with brown sugar
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream on top

Notes

Add any spices to the apples, like cinnamon, cloves, allspice etc.
