There are many ups and downs working in hospitality. I believe that it is one of the friendliest industries that make a community. When you work in hospitality, anyone else who works in hospitality is your friend.
In the bar community there is a tradition –
the “bartenders handshake”.
Within the cocktail community, bartenders often greet friends and colleagues with what’s know as the “bartender’s handshake,” a shot of booze on the house, served upon arrival or sometimes with the check.
More often than not, these small drinks, usually taken as shots, are straight booze or combination of specific spirits. Ferrari is one of those drinks. A potent 50/50 split of Fernet Branca and Campari. Two spirits that served straight make everyday folk squint and question their existence. Mix them together and get an even odder combination of bitterness and sweetness and dryness.
Let’s say you want a long-drink that embodies all that energy and is easy to sip. I present to you – Ferrari spritz! A combination of Fernet Branca, Campari, fresh grapefruit juice and prosecco.
